Among many one movie that sparked controversy was Fire.It garnered a lot of acclaim worldwide but in India it engraged the Shiv Sena due to its subject of dealing with the lesbian relationships between two sister in laws.The controversy ended with the main leads Shabana Azmi ,Nandita Das and Deepa Mehta getting death threats and therefore the film was banned by the Censor Board.
