Shoorparnekha was instrumental in bringing the downfall of Ravan in Ramayan .Her only crime was she was interested in a married man ie Lord Rama.Instead of asking her to go he mocks her and sends her to his brother who cuts off her nose and ears.Some versions of Ramayan say that she hated Ravan for killing her husband and really wanted to bring his downfall and this story about Ram and lakshman never really happened.
