Aubrey Menon’s book Ramayana ran into trouble as there were things mentioned which could hurt the religious sentiments of Hindus. Hence there was a strict ban on the import of this book in India.
Alexander Campbell’s book “The heart of India” was not liked by the Government at all. It raised a lot of questions on the working of the Indian Bureaucracy. Hence the book was banned.
